The Team
ASV Matchrace Team Hamburg was founded january 2006.
Ever since we enjoyed it very much to compete against many other teams on
regattas throughout Europe and train hard to get also competitive on international level.
Trung Huynh
helmsman,
team-skipper
born in Vietnam, grown up in Hamburg, studying physics. Began sailing
comparatively late in 2003. But for it his excitment and motivation for
regatta sailing grew very fast. Already in 2004 and 2005 he took the
helm at fleetraces in the dinghi boat class Conger with steadily growing
success. 2005 he participated in his first matchrace events beside his
Conger campaign. 2006 came the switch-over to matchrace as his main
discipline and the founding of the matchrace team. Here as well
advancement was at a tearing pace. After participation at national
regattas and championships and also some international events, he was
already ranked #221 in the ISAF world ranking list after his first
matchrace season. His goal is to keep up this growing progress to mix it
at the top of the matchracing scene soon. Since 2004 sportingdirector of
his homeclub ASV-Hamburg. When not competing a regatta, he joins the jury (Judge or Umpire) or the race committee (Race Officer) 3-4 times a year.
